Incremental change in isolated patches is not enough. We design and pilot large, community-led conservation models in Kenya's most biodiverse terrestrial and marine ecosystems — with connectivity and iterative expansion built in from the start. The goal is always an approach that can travel.

No single actor can hold conservation outcomes over time. We work at the intersection of all three — because environmental gains that depend on any one of them alone are fragile by definition.

Where government capacity is limited and funding cycles are short, Archipelagus makes the systems-level investments that the landscape actually requires. We choose to work in challenging geographies and complex contexts — because that is where the need is greatest and the opportunity for lasting impact is real.
